Citizens Police alumni to hold inaugural golf scramble event

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hot Springs Village Citizens Police Academy Alumni Associatio­n will host its inaugural golf scramble and barbecue dinner fundraiser on May 17 at the Ponce de Leon Golf Course, 300 Ponce De Leon Drive.

This all-day event will feature lunch by Mulligan’s, dinner after golfing at the Balboa Pavilion catered by Smokin’ in Style BBQ , and prizes galore, including flight prizes, flag prizes, a putting contest, and chance to win a car for a hole-in-one.

The event, in celebratio­n of National Police Week, is a four-person scramble. Check-in will be at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.

The dinner and prize ceremony at Balboa Pavilion will begin at 5 p.m. Current law enforcemen­t officers can eat for free, and walkin dinner tickets are available to all others for $25.

The inclusive event price is $90 per person, and registrati­on forms are available online at http://www.HSVCPAAA.com. Completed forms should be submitted by May 10.

Donations and sponsorshi­ps are also welcome to support the nonprofit charitable organizati­on. A portion of registrati­on fees is tax-deductible, in addition to all donations and sponsorshi­ps.

The HSVCPAAA mission is to support the efforts of the Hot Springs Village Police Department in improving the general welfare of residents by dedicating resources toward meaningful positive community outreach and awareness. The group is raising funds for a MILO firearms training simulator for law enforcemen­t personnel in the Village and surroundin­g cities.
