A Mountain Pine man was arrested Wednesday on felony and misdemeanor warrants for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend last week, threatening her with a knife and trying to smother her with a pillow.

Torrey Tramain Davis, 39, who lists a Malvern Street address, was already in custody for a parole violation when he was served with the warrants shortly after 5:30 p.m. for aggravated assault, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison, and third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.

He remained in custody Thursday in lieu of bonds totaling $5,000 and a zero bond parole hold and is set to appear April 11 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, on Saturday, Davis’ ex-girlfriend went to the Hot Springs Police Department to report an assault she alleged had occurred Friday at her residence on Cones Road.

She said Davis became upset and shoved her into a wall and then pushed her into a steel trash bin, injuring her back. She said he also punched her in the face and put a pillow over her face for about five minutes trying to suffocate her.

At one point, he straddled her from behind and held a knife against her back, she said, and then bit her on the end of her nose, causing it to “bleed profusely.” Officers noted she had visible bruising on her back and left side and lacerations to her nose and lip consistent with her statement.

She told police she and Davis had lived together for about six months, but were not together any more.
