Clean, Attractive Property Service (CAPS) is a service provided by the Solid Waste Department to city residents who wish to dispose of large bulky items such as couches, mattresses, furniture, appliances and brush. Large brush that is collected is ground up and recycled into compost. Items scheduled for pickup must be placed curbside by 6 a.m., with at least

20 feet of overhead clearance to safely operate equipment. Please do not place items under low power lines or tree limbs. We offer special assistance to the disabled and elderly. Residents may have two collection­s per year at no cost, up to one ton, and there will be a charge of

Last week, Earth Angels of Hot Springs recycled: 114 pounds, aluminum cans; 4,058 pounds, newspaper; 478 pounds, corrugated cardboard; 204 pounds, plastic; 17,860 pounds, yard waste. A total of 11.36 tons of recyclable materials were kept out of the landfill.
