A Hot Springs man was arrested early Saturday on a warrant for allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend with a pistol last year.

Gavin Ramon Henry, 33, who lists a Malvern Avenue address, was taken into custody at 4:19 a.m. Saturday and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail. He remained in custody Monday in lieu of $1,000 bond and is set to appear in Garland County District Court on April 11.

According to the affidavit, the victim told Hot Springs police she met Henry, her ex-boyfriend, at a residence in the 1700 block of Hobson Avenue in September to drop off his clothes, and while they were talking he got in the back seat of her vehicle and became angry that she had brought a friend with her.

The victim and her friend said Henry then pulled out a silver gun, pulled the slide back, put a round in the chamber and said, “You know what’s gonna happen now.”

The friend said she was scared when Henry loaded the pistol, exited the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and began walking down Hobson Avenue.

Henry then began yelling at the victim and told her he was going to kill her and her family.

Henry allegedly struck her in the mouth with the butt of his pistol, causing her to bleed. He then exited the car, walked around to the driver’s side and continued to threaten

her and her family.

HSPD Officer Bryan Caldwell saw swelling to the victim’s upper and lower lip and a large amount of blood on her shirt.

The victim said she has dated Henry “off and on” for more than three years, and this was not the first time he was violent with her.
