A celebratio­n of life for Chelsea Kadence Cranton, 22, of Hot Springs, who died April 1, 2017, will be 10 a.m. today at Westminste­r Presbyteri­an Church with Pastors Chip Hatcher and Andrew Gonzalez officiatin­g.

James H. Helms Jr.

James Harold Helms Jr., retired, was welcomed into heaven April 4, 2017.

He was born Dec. 20, 1944, to James Harold Helms Sr. and Florence (Weise) Helms.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Helms Harris (Gerald); and brother-in-law, Tom Stevens.

He is survived by one sister, June Helms Stevens; his wife, LaDonna Howell Helms; daughter, Kim Helms McGuire (Mark); son, Mike Helms (Amber); grandchild­ren, Kaleb McGuire (Chelsea), Marvin Beaufort, Mikayla McGuire, Carlie Helms, Noah Basham and Olivia Basham.

Jim graduated from Malvern High School and Arkansas Tech University. He enjoyed most in life helping others. Jim was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He was an ordained deacon and was involved in missions with his church. Jim had an enthusiast­ic love for Jesus, family and friends.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. today with services immediatel­y following at 10 a.m. at Hot Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Manley Beasley and Rev. Mike Smith officiatin­g. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Russellvil­le.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hot Springs Baptist Church in Support of the Peru Mission Trip.

Patricia C. Jackson

Patricia C. Jackson, 79, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

She was born in the Philippine­s on Nov. 12, 1937.

Pat was a loving wife and friend. She loved to travel and to shop. Although she was a devout Catholic, Pat adored her second church, Grand Avenue United Methodist. She made many friends through her affiliatio­n with Woodmen of the World.

Cherishing her memory are her husband of 54 years, Dale Jackson; brothers-in-law, Bill Jackson (Margie Golden), and Don Jackson (Becky); niece, Stephanie Jackson; nephew, Taylor Jackson; three grandniece­s, and one grandnephe­w.

Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home.

Private interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park.

John Wesley Nooner, 74, of Hot Springs, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1942, in Hot Springs, to Wesley and Eunice Nooner. On Dec. 1, 1997, he married Becky Knabe. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gloria “Penny” Moore; and grandson, Chaz Wade.

John loved spending time with his family, friends and fur baby, Marlie Grace. His laughter was infectious and he loved to make others smile. He always had a cup of coffee, listening ear, words of wisdom and was ready to help. He loved football games, playing his guitar and cooking. His favorite Bible verses were Isaiah 41:10 and John 3:16. John was a great man of honor and integrity. He was a retired police officer from the Hot Springs Police Department, the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Department and served his country in the United States Army.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beautiful and loving wife of 20 years, Becky Nooner; children, Kimberly (Johnny) Walker, Julie Nooner, John (Trish) Nooner, Candice (Brad) VanDee, C.J. (Sarah) Knabe and many he called his “own.” He had three brothers, Jerry (Lynn) Nooner, Edward “Buddy” Nooner, Alan (Linda) Nooner; and numerous grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs, with Brother Jerry Garrett officiatin­g.

Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with honors provided by the Hot Springs Police Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearer­s will be Adam Moore, Paul Moore, Wesley Walker, Jacob Nooner, Eric Morrison and Kendrik Nooner.

Honorary pallbearer­s are the Hot Springs Police Department, Hot Springs Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 1, Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Department, Johnny Merriott, Vernon Breshears, Johnny Walker, Wesley Nooner, Nick Nooner, Ethan Nooner and Robert Blackstead.

Special thanks to Dr. Mark Lefler and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.

James I. Winstead, 85, of Hot Springs, died April 4, 2017.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Andrew Gonzalez officiatin­g.

There will be a private burial in Hardy.
