MOUNTAIN PINE — Josephine “Mema” Huff, 94, of Mountain Pine, Ark., died Saturday, April 8, 2017.

She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Hot Springs, to John William and Rowena (Harris) Carpenter. Josephine’s most satisfying accomplish­ment was teaching Sunday School for 35 years and working with Vacation Bible School for 47 years at Cedar Glades Baptist Church. She was known by many as “Mema” and she prayed that her family would never leave Jesus behind.

“As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousn­ess: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” Psalm 17:15

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Huff; brothers, John and Willis Carpenter; sisters, Mary Etta, Ellen, Ruby, Minnie, Ollie and Ester Carpenter; and son, Jimmy Huff.

Survivors include daughters, Jo Lynnette Cockman (Jimmy), Lynn Lambert (Sammy); son, Johnny Huff (Jeanne); stepdaught­er, Wanda Priddy (David); stepson, Leonard Ray Huff; daughter-in-law, Nina Huff; grandchild­ren, Tanya Beckwith (Darren), Darin Huff, Michael Huff (Kimberly), Cathy Nesbit (Grant), Bryan Lambert (Amber), Lyndsey Lambert; great-grandchild­ren, Bricen, Micah and Kaile Nesbit, Paige and Colby Lambert, Brady and Braden Huff, Bristol, Sawyer and Rider Huff, and Hayden Beckwith.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Cedar Glades Baptist Church with Brother James Preuett, Brother Kevin McDaniel and Brother Mike Griffith officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s include Grant Nesbit, Darren Beckwith, Darin Huff, Michael Huff, Bryan Lambert and Kelly Morgan.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Josephine’s community and church family of Cedar Glades Baptist Church, and very special friend, Linda Scott.
