Party chairmen to address HSV Republican Women

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hot Springs Village Republican Women will welcome Steve Lux, chairman of the Saline County Republican Party, and Matt McKee, chairman of the Garland County Republican Party, during a meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Ponce de Leon Center, 1101 DeSoto Blvd.

Lux was born in Rapid City, S.D. He graduated from South Dakota Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineerin­g, and moved to Pine Bluff in 1976. He then got involved with Republican politics, and has served as Arkansas Young Republican state chairman, county chairman in Jefferson and Saline counties, the election commission­er, and 4th District chairman. He was elected as Saline County Republican chairman in January 2014, and has been re-elected twice. He has been a Hot Springs Village resident since 2012.

McKee was born and raised in Gunnison, Colo., moving to Hot Springs in

2002. He was elected to serve as justice of the peace in Garland County in 2010, and served as chairman of the Garland County Young Republican­s from 2012-14. In addition to chairing the Republican Party of Garland County, he is also chairman of the Quorum Court’s Finance Committee. He and his wife, Nikki, live in the Spa City with their four daughters.

Guests and spouses are always welcome to attend HSVRW meetings, held on the third Thursday of each month from September through May.
