Jerrold Merrick

HOPE — Jerrold Merrick, age 54, of Hope, died Thursday, April 6, 2017.

He was born to Condolia (Connie) Merrick and Albert Rogers. He was raised and nurtured by his grandparents, the late Fred Merrick and Ziporah Essilee Watts Merrick.

Jerrold was an honor graduate of Blevins High School Class of 1981, was also a graduate of Southern Arkansas University and a member of the brotherhood of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was employed with Domtar Paper Company.

Survivors include his children, twins, Jeremy Merrick and Jarvis Merrick (Marissa Bouanhuenh) and Amber Merrick (Jerry Stewart); granddaughter, Mia Melody-Dao Merrick; his mother, Condolia Sergeant; siblings, Angela Beckford, Darlene Shavers, Daralyn Rogers, Kelvin Sergeant (Sharon), Percy Sergeant Jr. (Stella), Lamont Sergeant (Kanechia) and Albert Rogers Jr. (Patricia); aunts and uncles, Faye (Robert) Wilburn Sr., Louise (Joe) White, Gloria Merrick, Dr. Sadie (Benard) Mitchell, and James (Patsy) Merrick; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Rising Star Baptist Church,

1002 E. Beech St., Hope, Ark. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today, April 14, 2017, at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home,

403 S. Main Street, Hope, Ark. Arrangements are entrusted to Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services.
