Earth Angel Recycling Program is the city’s curbside recycling program. A progressiv­e recycling program is the best way to deal with over-burdened landfills, protect the environmen­t and reduce costs. By taking part in the Earth Angel Recycling Program, you have the opportunit­y to help ensure a healthy future for your community.

The Earth Angel truck collects the following materials: aluminum cans, brown paper grocery bags, corrugated cardboard, plastic grads Nos. 1 and 2, newsprint, telephone books, leaves, grass and small brush.

The city will furnish the container and a calendar of scheduled collection days. The container should be placed curbside prior to 6 a.m. for pickup. If you aren’t currently participat­ing in the Earth Angel program and would like to get involved, please call 321-6911.

Last week, Earth Angels of Hot Springs recycled: 89 pounds, aluminum cans; 3,844 pounds, newspaper; 592 pounds, corrugated cardboard; 258 pounds, plastic; 31,780 pounds, yard waste. A total of 18.28 tons of recyclable materials were kept out of the landfill.

Collection schedule Today: Hobson/Plain. Monday: Quail Creek/Lotus Loop.

Tuesday: James/Millcreek. Wednesday: Park Avenue Magnolia/Circle Drive.

Thursday: Oaklawn Park/ Pine Meadows.

April 21: Whittingto­n/Quapaw-Prospect.
