Dear editor:

Thank you for the columns, David Ignatius and Susan Estrich, in the Sunday, April 16, issue. Also, I really liked the assessment column of the Supreme Court by D. Rockmore and M. Livermore. The last paragraph of that column is telling and should be of great concern to the people of our country. The article was educational and insightful.

Please continue to offer pieces of value such as this one. With limited resources for research available to most citizens, articles such as this can be used as a tool for information from which better decisions can be made. having?

You answered none of my challenges or questions. You just told us again how good you feel about your salvation. You say that you could answer every point I brought up, but you won’t. I have heard your position about things in the past, yes. But what about these things that I am talking about? Have you nothing to say except to give trite religious opinions and Scripture references? What do you — Lloyd Hoffman — have to say about our kids’ future? And please, don’t stop with their eternal salvation. What about their “now” and “tomorrow”?

We are the hands and feet of our Creator. We may never get our world back to the “it is good” stage. But maybe, “it is better than it was last year.” for and fill in ourselves after numerous calls to the street department had gone unserviced. S&S had left it there.

I would love for this newspaper to Freedom of Information all the contracts they have with the Hot Springs street department. It’s obvious, given the amount of work involved, we are talking big dollars here. It may well be important work, but the clean up and repair is beyond shoddy and incompetent on the part of someone.

Thanks to each of the previously mentioned letter writers for shining light on this subject. I don’t recall which, but one hit it on the head: Unless you live in one of the ritzy neighborhoods like Eastgate, Red Oak Ridge, Hidden Forest or the like, don’t expect much help from our local government or the board of directors. They could care less about the needs of the average Spa resident.
