Mid-America Science Museum hosts Lori Arnold Artist-in-Residence Reception
Mid-America Science Museum recently announced its first Artist-in-Residence event with the opening of an art exhibit by Lori Arnold, a lifelong Hot Springs resident, professional artist and an exhibit designer at the museum.
The show, entitled “Taking a Closer Look,” is inspired by microscopic images of things that are in abundance in everyday life. “I’ve always been fascinated by colors, patterns and textures that occur in nature; a tree’s bark, a pile of fallen leaves, strewn rocks along a river’s shore,” Arnold said in the news release.
“Arnold combines the strength and character of nature through multiple steps within each piece to bring out human emotion and allow for the imagination to soar,” the release said. The exhibit will be on display for the month of May at Mid-America Science Museum. Guests are encouraged to attend the artist’s reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday during the Science Society’s Art of Science event, hosted at the museum.
Mid-America Science Museum Science Society monthly events are for guests 21 and older with cocktails and drinks served by Tri-Lakes Liquor. Food and refreshments will be available while supplies last.
