Murder mystery adventure planned on Bathhouse Row

-

The Friends of Hot Springs National Park will host an original murder mystery adventure on Bathhouse Row by The Murder and Macabre Mystery Theater from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday.

“We are excited to host The Murder and Macabre Mystery Theater, known for their original and engaging plays,” said Roxanne Butterfield, president of the Friends. “Their shows, like the recently concluded ‘Real Housewives of Hot Springs,’ are sellouts.” Proceeds from the event will benefit the restoration of the Maurice Bath House.

The evening begins in the Ozark Bath House with a picnic in the park. Guests will enjoy delectable food provided by businesses including Stubby’s BBQ, DeLuca’s Pizzeria Napoletana, Brick City Pizza, The Ohio Club, Fat Bottomed Girls, Angels and Angels in the Park. Beverages include wine, beer from the Superior Bathhouse Brewery and the Craft Beer Cellar.

As the story begins, guests will need to watch and listen carefully. Are the characters as innocent as they first appear? Guests will leave to gather clues along Bathhouse Row and return to the Ozark Bath House to solve the mystery.

Guests are encouraged to come as bird-watchers, campers, nature lovers or hikers for a costume contest. Tickets are $60. Sponsorships with VIP seating is available.

The Friends of Hot Springs National Park is the nonprofit partner of the park established in 1989 as Friends of the Fordyce, and continues as Friends of Hot Springs National Park. Its mission is to support the park through advocacy and fundraising for programs and projects outside the normal National Park Service budget. The Friends launched a $500,000 capital campaign in 2016 for the restoration of Maurice Bath House, the last bath house on historic Bathhouse Row to be restored, according to a news release.
