Hot Springs Concert Band to present annual Memorial Day concert

-

Now in its 42nd year, the award-winning Hot Springs Concert Band launches its summer concert series with its annual Memorial Day concert at 3 p.m. May 29 in Whittington Park.

Charles Gilmore, president of the band, said in a news release, “We are proud to be able to perform this concert to recognize and honor the service and sacrifice made by current and past members of our armed services.”

The band will perform a wide variety of patriotic songs to inspire and capture the mood and theme of this treasured holiday occasion. “This is one of the most popular concerts we perform throughout the year,” Gilmore added. “Guests are encouraged to arrive early for good parking and seating. We are grateful to ReMax of Hot Springs Village for their sponsorship of this concert.”

The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill donation will be accepted to help defray the expenses of the concert that includes purchase of music, rental of restroom facilities and equipment transport. In the event of rain, the concert may be relocated to the gymnasium building on the campus of National Park College.
