Donald J. Clark
ROYAL — Donald Jule Clark, of Royal, was called home to our Lord in his home on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1934, to Tom and Millie Clark, in Muskogee, Okla., where he grew up in Goose Neck Bend. As a child, he helped his dad grow watermelons to make a living, earning the nickname Plug (because of plugging watermelons).
He married Margie Roselle O’Neal on Feb. 9, 1951, and together, they raised four loving children. He began his career working in construction at Standard Industries in Tulsa, Okla. as a blade operator. In
1965, he moved to Fayetteville, Ark., with his family, where he worked with McClinton Anchor for 31 years as a supervisor in charge of excavating road building operations. He was a part in constructing the development of large commercial property around Fayetteville, which included landmarks such as the mall, Walton Arts Center and the University of Arkansas stadium. He helped build the first leg of the I-40 interstate leading to Fayetteville and many roads from Oklahoma to all over Arkansas. He retired in 1996 and later moved to Hot Springs in
2004, where he had the opportunity to enjoy things he loved such as fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren and spending time with his family. Margie and Donald were members of Baldwin Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Millie Clark; brothers, Thomas Clark and Milton Clark; and sister, Thelma Clark Emmons.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Roselle Clark; his beloved dog, Coco; children, Donna Sue Clark, Robert Joe Clark, Annette Brickell and her husband, Randy, Teri Slavens and her husband, Rocky; grandchildren, Shannon Hughes, Joe McKnight, Jennifer Teague, Logan Slavens, Scott Brickell, Cody Brickell, Beau Brickell, Casey Audrey and Christopher Clark; great-grandchildren, Sabrina Hughes, Austin Hughes, Delaney Teague, Emmy Teague, John Gregory, Madison, Olivia Slavens, Kingsley Brickell, Tatum Brickell and Tori Bennett.
Funeral services are under the direction of Beards Funeral Chapel located at 855 South Happy Hollow Road in Fayetteville. The visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday. A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Beard’s Chapel, with Pastor Ray Baggett officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Beau Brickell, Scott Brickell, Cody Brickell, Logan Slavens, Joe McKnight and Jason Teague will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rocky Slavens and Leon Drain.
The celebration will continue with family and friends immediately following the graveside service at Tim’s Pizza East, located at 1813 East Mission Boulevard in Fayetteville.

Patricia J. Fisher
BRYANT — Patricia “Pat” Jane (O’Neal) Fisher of Bryant, passed away quietly, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas.
She was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Hot Springs, and travelled extensively in her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Fisher. She leaves behind her two daughters, Wendy and Heather Newsam; her granddaughters, Taylor Romynack, and Zola and Eliza Godfrey-Newsam; and her brothers, Tom and Ben O’Neal; and many other family members and close friends.

Deloris S. Henderson
Deloris Sloan Henderson, of Hot Springs, went to be with her lord and savior Thursday, May 14, 2017.

PEARCY — Anthony “Tony” Martin, 56, of Pearcy, died May 17, 2017.

Furman E. Spainhour
Furman Ezekiel Spainhour “Zeke,” of Hot Springs, was born Sept. 29, 1939. He passed to his eternal home on Feb. 5, 2016.
Zeke was predeceased in death by his parents, the Rev. Ferman Spainhour and Ruth Spainhour-Bates; and his brother, Frank Spainhour. He is survived by his children, Nick Spainhour, of Longview, Texas, and Lisa Mendenall, of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, Morgan Rogers and Taylor Mendenall; great-grandchildren, Emma and James Rogers; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Zeke was a lifelong member of First Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed boat racing, loved gospel music and until his retirement, he worked as a car salesman. Zeke loved his children and had a compassion for those who were less fortunate than he.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at First Pentecostal Church, 222 East Grand Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

John Tailby
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — John Tailby, age 90, of Hot Springs Village, passed away May 17, 2017.
John was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Henderson Township, Pa. John and his wife, Shirley, were married 66 years and lived many places around the country, including Syracuse, N.Y., Stevens Point, Wisc., Houston, Texas, and Scottsdale, Ariz.
John was a retired Lt. Col., having served 29 years in the U.S. Airforce during both WWII and the Korean conflict. John retired in 1989 as Vice President of Sentry Insurance Company. During retirement, John became an artist and a writer, publishing five novels.
John is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Hot Springs Village; and two daughters, Sandra Tailby Runyon, and her husband, Calvin, of Hempstead, Texas, and Leanne Tailby Tingay, and her husband, Bill, of Barre, Vt., and one predeceased daughter, Kathleen Tailby Forrest.
There will be a service to celebrate John’s life at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at The Village United Methodist Church. Pastor George Tanner will preside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make memorials to the Village United Methodist Church.
