Francis K. “Stoney” Jackson Jr., 81, of Hot Springs, passed away May 18, 2017.

Stoney was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Little Rock, to the parents of Francis King Jackson and Lillian Frances Blume.

Stoney was raised and educated in the Catholic faith. Stoney attended St. Andrews Cathedral and St. Edwards Catholic Church and School in Little Rock before graduating fifth in his class of 35 from Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock. Over the past 50 years, Stoney attended The Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Hot Springs.

Stoney achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout, awarded by the Boy Scouts of America. Stoney honorably served in six years in the National Guard of the United States.

On Feb. 1, 1965, Stoney founded Jackson Porcelain Lab, Inc., which is still running today by Stoney’s daughter, Karen Perry.

In 1967, Stoney and Jo Ann bought a home on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. Of all the places Stoney visited over the past 50 years, no place was more beautiful to him than The Point on Lake Hamilton. Stoney loved boating, water skiing, fishing and swimming. Stoney was an avid fan of horse racing and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Stoney was preceded in death by his parents, Francis King Jackson and Lillian Frances Blume. Stoney is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Burroughs Jackson; his four children, Debra (Jimmy) Stout, of Fort Smith, Steven F. Jackson (Scott Boone), of Boise, Idaho, Karen (Nick) Perry, of Hot Springs, and Lori Jackson, of Hot Springs; his seven grandchild­ren, Jim Stout, Rebecca Stout (Derek Harvey), Jessica (Chris) Iovinelli, Brandon Perry, Mack Hinson IV, Jackson Hinson and Christian Hinson; and his nine great-grandchild­ren, Amelia, Olivia and Gavin Stout, Mason Perry, Dax, Dagen, and Cashton Harvey, and Kenlee and Aiden Iovinelli.

A visitation will be will be held between 5-6 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Rd., Hot Springs, Arkansas, 71913. Rosary to follow.

A celebratio­n of Stoney’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at The Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist by Father James West, 589 W. Grand Ave., Hot Springs, Arkansas, 71901

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Calvary Cemetery, located at corner of Wright Avenue and South Woodrow Street in Little Rock. The Calvary Cemetary main entrance is off of Charles Bussey Avenue.

Pallbearer­s: Russell Atchley, Scott Boone, Chris Iovinelli, Brandon Perry, Nick Perry and Jim Stout.
