Programs slated at Coronado Library
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Coronado Center Library will offer the following programs for adults and children over the summer. All will be provided at no charge to participants.
Adults
• Beverly Salisbury will present “The Declaration of Independence and the Men Who Signed It” at 2 p.m. June 27 in Room 6 of the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Lane.
• Aliza Bloom Robinson will have a signing for her book “Falling into Ease” during business hours on July 11 in the Coronado Center Library.
Children
• The Baitcasters Club of Hot Springs Village will hold a fishing skills class from 10-11:30 a.m. June 8.
Participants can bring their own fishing pole, or one will be provided. Bait will be supplied. Fishing will take place in Lake Coronado, which is just a short walk away.
• Dance lessons with Faron Richey will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Fridays, June 9 through July 28, in Room
6 of the Coronado Center. Children ages 12-16 are welcome for one lesson or for the full course.
• Preschoolers Story Time is set for 10:30 a.m. on June 13, 20 and 27, July 11, 18 and 25, and Aug. 1 in the library.
Each story time will last an hour, and will include a story, craftmaking and a snack.
This year’s theme will be “Make Believe,” and presenters will be Cindy Conrad and Tammy McCullough.
• A Cookin’ with Kids class will take place from 1-2:30 p.m. June 21 in the Coronado Center auditorium.
• The presentation “History of the Pretzel” will be at 1:30 p.m. June 29 in the Coronado Center auditorium.
Representatives from Auntie Anne’s Pretzels will tell about the history of the pretzel, then show how they are made.
• An afternoon of miniature golf will be held from 1-3 p.m. July 13 on the Hot Springs Village Miniature Golf Course, 101 Sonora Way.
• “Introduction to Pickleball” for ages 10-15 will be offered from 1-2:30 p.m. July 19 in the Coronado Center, presented by members of the Hot Springs Village Pickleball Club.
• A second Cookin’ with Kids class is set for 10 a.m. July 27 in the Coronado Center auditorium.
