GC Library hosts juried art exhibit

-

The Garland County Library, 1427 Malvern Ave., features original art by local artists and art groups monthly on its Art Wall.

The exhibits are presented in collaboration with Emergent Arts, 341-A Whittington Ave.

The 12th annual Juried Art Exhibit of Hot Springs Traditional Art Guild opened May 15 at the library. The exhibit includes works in oil, watercolor, pastel and mixed media. Works by TAG artists are exhibited at various venues in Hot Springs, other areas of Arkansas, and nationally. Pastel artist Shirley Anderson, a charter member of the Arkansas Pastel Society whose work has been shown nationally, will judge this year’s art.

Many of the works on display are for sale through Emergent Arts with a portion of the proceeds given to Emergent Arts to help fund their projects in the city.

The library’s Art Wall is available for viewing during regular business hours, which are Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 12:30-5:30 p.m.

Call Emergent Arts at 501-613-0352 or email info@emergentarts.com for more information on the Art Wall, artwork, artists or how to exhibit.
