To register for any of the events, call 870-230-5184, email asbtdc@hsu.edu or go online at http://asbtdc.org/training/arkadelphia-events/.

The Startup Summit will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 3 and will combine two of the center’s most popular seminars. A $65 registration fee is required, but veterans can attend for free at the HSU-Hot Springs campus downtown in the Landmark Building.

“Starting a Business in Arkansas” is meant to prepare participants for the business planning process, identify major steps crucial to starting a business, discuss key issues that affect business success, and highlight start-up requirements and common pitfalls entrepreneurs face.

“How to Write a Business Plan” is designed to cover the business planning process in detail. Business plans are required to obtain a small business loan and participants are taught the importance of planning and the elements that go into a good plan. The seminar is recommended as a first step for new entrepreneurs.

The free Facebook workshop, co-sponsored by Bear State Bank, will also be held at HSU-Hot Springs from 1:30-4 p.m. on June 6. Participants will be given an overview of Facebook basics and be taught tips for managing their page, setting goals, measuring content reach and analyzing post effectiveness.

The website seminar will be held at the College of the Ouachitas from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 8. The registration fee is $50.

The seminar is meant to help small businesses create a free website. Participants will be taught step-by-step how to create a free account and an attractive, five-page website.
