Lakeside recognizes honor graduates

Lakeside High School recently celebrated the honor graduates from the class of 2017.

Honors graduates completed at least six academic credits each years of high school, honors level courses in all academic curricula, at least two years of a foreign language and rank in the top 15 percent of the class.

Students who ranked in the top 5 percent of the class earned summa cum laude distinctio­n. Magna cum laude graduates ranked in the top 6-10 percent and students ranked in the top 11-15 percent graduated cum laude.

Summa cum laude graduates in the class of 2017 were Kayla Brown, Hayley Chunn, Catherine Dodd, Krista Henderson, Kayla Kalahiki, Shelby Little, David McCauley, Shauna Rosenau, Coburn Slay, Emily Slay, Rebecca Slay and Kailyn Tidwell.

Magna cum laude graduates were Katlin Daniel, Courtney DeVane, Reina Gutierrez, Barrett Johnson, Alexandra Lybrand, Elizabeth Patrico, Tatum Rice, Madelyn Rottinghau­s, Abby Simmons, Caroline Tankersley, Alexandra Tejcek and Benjamin Turner.

Students who graduated cum laude were Savannah Clifton, Cathleen Criss, Caleb Dean, Caroline Folds, Jack Henry Hill, Gunner Lawless, Luke Mangan, Samuel McWhorter, Lydia Poole, Hannah Reeves, Garrett Tarbet and Ryan Villano.

Lakeside conducted its graduation ceremony May 21 at Bank of the Ozarks Arena.
