Tech Learning Center announces June schedule

The June schedule for classes presented by Hot Springs Tech Learning Center has been confirmed.

The Windows 10 Level Basics four-week class will be held from 1-3 p.m. June 7, 14, 21 and 28. A home computer is not required to enroll in this course, however, having a computer is recommende­d, as it will enhance the student’s ability to practice the skills learned in the classroom. Topics covered include: parts of the computer, review of mouse usage, turn computer on/off, taskbar, start menu, desktop icons. WordPad will be used to give the student basics of word processing: tabs/groups, cut/paste/copy, formatting, backspace/delete, selecting text, printing, save/save as. Introducti­on to internet and email will be included.

Android Phones will be held from 10 a.m. to noon June 12. This seminar will cover how to use features on Android phones. Features will include accessing the internet and email, installing apps, using the camera, sending pictures from the camera, using the calendar, alarm clock, how to connect to WiFi networks. Students should bring their own Android phone.

One Care CHI St. Vincent’s Patient Portal will be held from 1-3 p.m. June 13. If a patient of any doctor associated with St. Vincent’s, this is the program used to send email to doctors, view test results and view scheduled appointmen­ts. The workshop will cover how to navigate through the options available with this program. If not already registered to use the program, attendees will do so in this workshop. If registered, bring user name and password.

One on One Help sessions will be held from 1-3 June 15. They will help on a topic that no workshop/class offers, and help students register on a topic of their choice. Students will be matched with a staff member that can provide them with oneon-one help. Bring questions to these sessions. A Facebook class will be held from 1-3 p.m. June 22. This workshop will introduce the student to the basics of using Facebook to communicat­e with family and

friends. Topics to be covered include setting up a Facebook account, finding friends, posting messages, uploading pictures. Students will need a Facebook account. Students who do not already have an account will set up an account at the beginning of the workshop.

The iPhone class will be held from 9-11 a.m. June 26. This workshop will cover how to use features on the iPhone. Features will include accessing the internet and email, installing apps, using the camera, sending pictures from the camera, using the calendar, alarm clock, how to connect to WiFi networks. Students should bring their own iPhone.
