La Hacienda, a Mexican restaurant, is a true family restaurant with only the best there is in Mexican food, said Luis Oseguera.
“Not Tex-Mex, or Arkansas Mexican, but authentic Mexican,” he said. “Our food is original, meaning we cook original family recipes that the family has carried for many generations. These are recipes that you will not find anywhere else, some of them not even in Mexico.”
The restaurant has been in Hot Springs since 1988 and has received numerous awards from different food critics throughout the United States. It was voted the best Mexican restaurant in the state from 1997 to 2012, and has been a finalist the last four years for the Best Mexican Food in Arkansas voted by Arkansas Times.
Like the critics, the restaurant has customers from all over the world who claim to have eaten the best food ever at La Hacienda.
The food that is prepared is very simple but very tasty, Oseguera said.
“We don’t over spice the food because this takes away the original flavors. We like to taste the distinctive flavor of every item that we offer. From tacos to tostadas and enchiladas, each should have its own flavor, and customers should be able to distinguish the different flavors.
“Some so-called Mexican restaurants add so much spice that it ruins the food completely. It takes away the flavor instead of adding,” Oseguera said.
