What does compounding mean for you? It means you can get medications that are made specifically for your condition. Medications are available that are allergy-friendly and easier to use. Veterinary medications can also be made for your pet. Most retail chain pharmacies don’t make their own medications. Instead, they’re supplied by large drug companies.

Crawford Pharmacy and Compounding Center will work directly with you to select a flavoring agent, such as vanilla, tutti-frutti, or bubble gum, that provides both an appropriate match for the medication’s properties and your taste preference.

Crawford Pharmacy can also help patients who are experiencing chronic pain. For example, some arthritic patients cannot take certain medications due to gastrointestinal side effects. Working with your physician, Crawford Pharmacy can provide you with a topical preparation with the anti-inflammatory or analgesic your doctor has prescribed. Compounded prescriptions often are used for pain management in hospice care. These services are not available at most retail chain pharmacies.

Compounding pharmacies are rigorously regulated by the Arkansas Board of Pharmacy so you can be assured of quality every time. Crawford Pharmacy is a member of PCCA, an international organization that provides high-quality products, education and support to create personalized medicine.
