Doyle Lester Danner, age 58, of Hot Springs, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born to Jane Danner and Frank Danner Jan. 26, 1959, in Prattsvill­e, Ark.

Doyle was a 1977 graduate of Prattsvill­e High School. He attended the Job Corps and received a degree in cooking. He was a former employee of the city of Hot Springs and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Doyle had a love for horses and began a career with Oaklawn Racetrack in 1983. He became a traveling assistant trainer in many states.

Doyle will be remembered as a fun and loving person. He was known in the community as a protector to all, they called him Big D or Security.

In his younger years, he attended Davis Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wifey, Gwen Finney and their daughter, Whitney Cherrelle Danner, of Hot Springs; a special nephew whom he loved and nurtured and treated him as his son, Dejuan Boling “Wannie” Boling, of Hot Springs; his sisters, Sharon Clegg, of Pratsville, Doris Fielder, of Malvern, Vickie Tatum and Loral (Lewis) Parr, all of Little Rock; his brothers, Earl (Angela) Cooper, of Pine Bluff, James Danner and Cornelius “Neal” Danner, both of Hot Springs, Jewel (Marsha) Danner, of Gurdon, Kenneth Danner, of Bryant; several nieces, nephews and extended family, including the Finney family.

A celebratio­n of life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3,

2017, at Visitors Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church,

319 Church St., with the Rev. Gregory Nettles officiatin­g and the Rev. Jewel Danner will deliver the eulogy.
