SAU announces semester academic honors

MAGNOLIA — Southern Arkansas University recently announced the students, including graduates of local high schools, who qualified for the president’s list and dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester.

A total of 295 students made the president’s list with gradepoint averages of 4.0 for the semester. The total is an increase from 225 in the spring of 2016 and 272 in the spring of 2015.

Local students on the semester president’s list were:

Bismarck

Morgan Taylor, a junior Agricultur­al Education major.

Bonnerdale

Jace Tilley, senior, Agricultur­al Education.

Hot Springs

Nicole Nega, senior, Animal Science.

Malvern

Emily Jett, senior, Finance Analysis.

Pearcy

Alec Young, senior, Nursing.

A total of 402 students earned a GPA of 3.5 or better to make the semester dean’s list. The university named 426 students to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester and 333 in the spring of 2015.
