Billy Joe Holcomb, 65, of Hot Springs, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

He was born on Feb. 23, 1952, to the late Marshall and Jo Holcomb, in Murfreesbo­ro. He attended the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle.

He had worked as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel, a warehouse supervisor for Arkansas Paper Group, was co-owner of The Garden Path Nursery & Florist and caretaker of Morning Star Cemetery for seven years.

He is survived by his wife, Shari Holcomb; son, Matthew Holcomb; sister, Marsha Kay Willks (Charles); sister, Vickie Johnson (Alan); brothers, Larry Holcomb (Kim), Mark Holcomb (Leslie); grandchild­ren, Dustin Brantley, Emily Ann Holcomb, Tyler James Holcomb, Abigail Leigh Holcomb; his beloved aunt, Eula Mae Scoggins; and special great nephew and niece, Parker and Penelope Chunn.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Anderson, Donald Moody and Alan Clark officiatin­g. Burial will be at Morning Star Cemetery, with full military honors by VFW Post 2278.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearer­s will be Alan Castleberr­y, Matthew Holcomb, Dustin Brantley, Brad Chunn, Brian Chunn and Donald Moody.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Greta Bates, Teresa Jarrell, Tony and Pam Boxer.

A special thank you goes to Janet Smith, ICU at CHI Vincent, Heather Holcomb and Janie Jackson of Ouachita Regional Dialysis for her years of support and kindness.

Billy was the example of true courage and strength when faced with years of ongoing illness.

His love for his family and faith carried him through with dignity and pride. He is no longer by our sides but soars with wings from above and will forever and always be in our hearts.
