Chamber president to address Women’s Welcome
Hot Springs Women’s Welcome Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at
Hot Springs Country Club.
Social hour begins at
10:30 a.m. The speaker will be
Jim Fram, president and CEO of the Greater
Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and Hot Springs Metro Partnership.
Fram leads a staff team of professionals who work in the areas of business attraction, expansion, development and retention. He will discuss what is happening in Hot Springs. Luncheon cost is $20.
Women new to Hot Springs within the last 24 months and interested in making friends and participating in philanthropic projects are encouraged to call President Ginger Yates, 501-339-1899, for information and to make reservations for the luncheon.
Shady Grove Cemetery Assn. has special meeting
Notice of special called meeting at 2 p.m. June 11 on the grounds of Shady Grove Cemetery. Anyone having family buried in Shady Grove Cemetery or persons who have reserved spaces in same, are urged to attend this important meeting. Proxy voting is allowed with written permission and proof of dues paid.
Under consideration is: new fee structure and burial policy; reclaiming reserved sites delinquent on dues; changes to the by-laws; and ongoing care and maintenance of the cemetery.
Dyslexia tutoring info at GC Literacy Council
Dyslexia tutoring information sessions will be held from 4-5 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at Literacy Council of Garland County, 119 Hobson Ave.
AmeriCorps member Brent Hiller will host the sessions to share information on the new dyslexia tutoring opportunity. These will be paid positions. If interested, plan to attend one of the sessions.
