Lieutenant Roberts

Lieutenant Roberts, age 83, of Hot Springs, peacefully fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was born August 14, 1933, in San Augustine, Texas, to Matthew and Sarah Land Roberts. They preceded him in death as well as his siblings, M.C. Roberts, Nina Wright, Lucille Pobest and Ethel Moore.

He was known to his family and friends as Dick, L.T., Smiley and Louie. He had a 55 year career as an Automotive Mechanic. 50 of those years was with Allen Tillery. He retired in 2009. Lieutenant was a faithful member of Evangelist Temple Church of God in Christ. He exhibited his faith by serving as a deacon, finance ministry, handyman/janitorial, gardner and as a servant.

His memories will forever be in the heart of his wife of

60 years, Nola Graves Roberts, of Hot Springs; sisters, Della LaFall, of Fort Worth, Texas, McHaley Cotton, of San Augustine, Texas, and Lonnie Bishop, of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Henry Louise Chambers; a host of special nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Union Baptist Church, 219 Gulpha Street, Rev. Douglas E. Jones, pastor and Bishop Carl Ratliff, Sr. will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetrey. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, June

6, 2017, at Evangelist Temple Church of God In Christ, 1146 Pleasant Street.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Evangelist Temple COGIC Building Fund.

Katherine Veasey, age 78, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Lock officiatin­g.

Tess Wright

Tess Wright, age 62, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

A Celebratio­n of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ken Carney officiatin­g, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, near Glenwood.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be Stephanie Angelica, Melynda Gidcomb, Ramona Abernathy, Bobbie Akers, Susan Wilkins, Dollie McKinnon, Charlene Johnson, Ladonna Bornhoff, Tonya Boone, Shelly Arnold and the Lake Hamilton School District.
