GC Master Gardeners work courthouse lawns

-

The Garland County Master Gardeners courthouse crew recently had a workday at the Garland County Courthouse, Garland County Courts Building and Fallen Officer Memorial. There were 18 volunteers and two Garland County staff.

All of the plants installed in May had survived and thrived. The work included weeding and mulching several beds at both courthouses.

J.D. Fladung and Mitch Solsby, with the Garland County staff, brought in a truckload of mulch and drove it around throughout the morning. “These fellows are just amazing partners in support of our efforts, and we are grateful for the relationship,” stated Sheila McLarty, chairperson for the GCMG Courthouse and Memorial Project, the press release. “I am also thankful to our wonderful friends at Hot Springs Sod for donating a few flowers to freshen up the police memorial. They have policemen in their family, so they choose to help honor our fallen officers in this lovely way.”

Garland County Judge Rick Davis stated in the release, “I want to publicly acknowledge and thank the Garland County Master Gardeners for their work each month at the courthouse and the Law Enforcement Memorial. They work hard keeping these county areas well-groomed and beautiful, and obviously take great pride in their work. They are a hard-working volunteer group that makes a difference in our community and I appreciate them.”
