ASBTDC to present free business summit

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia will present a free Small Business Startup Summit in Hot Springs Wednesday combining two of its most popular seminars.

The summit will start at 3:30 p.m. on the HSUHot Springs campus in the Landmark Building’s Downtown Education Center at the corner of Central Avenue and Market Street.

“Starting a Business in Arkansas” is meant to prepare participants for the business planning process, identify major steps crucial to starting a business, discuss key issues that affect business success, and highlight start-up requirements and common pitfalls entrepreneurs will face.

“How to Write a Business Plan” will cover the business planning process in detail. No matter how large or small, all businesses should have a written plan. A business plan helps to define concepts, evaluate the competition, analyze markets, determine risks and estimate financial potential.

Business plans are required to obtain a small business loan. Participants will be taught the importance of planning and the elements that go into a good plan. The seminar is recommended as a first step for new entrepreneurs.

Registration is available online at http:// asbtdc.org/training/arkadelphia-events or call 870-230-5184.
