NEW ORLEANS — Lakeside High School alum Stephanie Grise was recognized last month during the 46th commencement ceremony for the Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Dentistry.
Grise graduated with an honor in teaching distinction and is a 2011 Honors College graduate from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She is the daughter of Stan and Stacey Grise.
Her campus involvement included service as a student ambassador, student member of the LSU Strategic Planning Committee and president of the C. Edmund Kells Honor Society. She participated in a weeklong mission trip to Mexico to provide free dental care to the communities of Atoyac de Alvarez and San Juan de Flores.
Grise was awarded the Grace Voigt Leadership Scholarship, Delta Dental of Arkansas Scholarship and the Special Care Dentistry Association award for treating patients with disabilities. She was one of only two students selected to present research at the 2016 American Dental Education Association annual Session and Exhibition as a student fellow with the ADEA Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program. She plays piano and sings with Developmental Groove, the 12-member cover band composed of students and faculty at the School of Dentistry.
Grise was accepted into the General Practice Residency Program in the Maxwell S. Fogel Department of Dental Medicine at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
