Ralph Farese, 69, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.

He was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Miami, Fla., to the late Ralph and Caroline Briggs Farese.

Ralph was a Purple Heart Vietnam veteran, having served in Vietnam. He has put others before himself for many years. He is active in many service organizati­ons. He served as the chairman of VFW 2278 Honor Guard for over eight years and post commander for three years. Ralph wrote and conducted the ceremony for POW/MIA Day. He has given his time and service to many folks without asking anything in return. Ralph was able to provide chaplain services to those in need as he became ordained as the post chaplain. Ralph was also a past grand commander of the Military Order of the Cootie.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Farese; mother-inlaw, Frances Lewis; sisters, Cindy Lewis and Tammy Spradling; brothers, Ashley Lewis and Charles Gunnels, and his beloved fur babies.

A Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Hot Springs Funeral Home, with Wade Beams officiatin­g. He will have full Military Honors by VFW Post 2278. A luncheon will follow the service at the VFW Post 2278.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to VFW Post 2278 Honor Guard Team.
