Charlene Simon, of Bathhouse Soapery in historic downtown Hot Springs, was elected president of the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild. The HSCG is the largest global, not-for-profit trade association for soap and cosmetic handcrafters.
Bathhouse Soapery is located at 366 Central Ave. and has been a part of downtown Hot Springs for nearly 10 years. “I’ve been crafting soap since I was 18. The HSCG has been a huge part of my success as a soap maker and business owner. It’s an honor and a privilege to serve our industry and to continue to advocate in Washington, D.C., on behalf of our members.”
The HSCG has been in existence since 1998 and has nearly
3,500 members. The organization represents more than
350,000 handcrafters worldwide. While the majority of its members reside in the USA, members hail from all over the world, including Canada, the Bahamas, the UK and Australia.
