HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Jerald Lane Butler, 82, of Hot Springs Village, died Monday, May 29, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Margaret Louise McPherran Dauber, 98, of Hot Springs, died June 19, 2017.

Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Thomas O. Fletcher

Thomas “Tommy” Orr Fletcher, 75, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Buddy Leamons officiatin­g.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday.

Floy J.R. Foster

Floy Jean Rookard Foster, age 70, of Hot Springs, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017.

She was born Aug. 19, 1946, in Rison, Ark., to Clyde Beatty Sr and Doris Jacobs Beatty. They preceded her in death as well as her husband, Phillip Rookard; granddaugh­ter, Rhonda Flores; and her siblings.

Survivors include her children, Phil Rookard, Tamra Buck and Tonya Jimenez (Norm), all of Hot Springs; her sisters, Judy McBay and Gennell Borden; her grandchild­ren, Tony (Flor) Rookard, Jonathon Alvarez, Cristina Alvarez (Lukas) Jack, Lauren Alvarez; great-grandchild­ren, Jasmine Flores, Antonio, Danny Roman Rookard, Landon and Slone Jack, Kaleigh and Kennedy Alvarez, Abrah and Creed Fox; a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today, June 22, 2017, at Morning Star United Methodist Church.

Louise Geurin, 72, of Hot Springs, died June 19, 2017.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Gross Funeral Home chapel.

Burial will be in Ozark Lithia Cemetery.

Tommy Hammons

ROYAL — Tommy Hammons, 63, of Royal, Ark., passed away Monday, June 19, 2017.

He was born Sept. 25, 1953, to the late Rayford and Juanita (Phillips) Hammons.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Donald Zelfer.

Tommy is survived by his sons, Justin Hammons (Kristy), John Hammons and Zach Hammons; two sisters, Judie Frank (Marvin) and Debbie Ball; and five grandchild­ren, Lexi, Kayla, Aubrey, Landon and Haydon Hammons.

Tommy (a.k.a. Walleye King) was the owner of “Hammons Roofing” and a former instructor at Lake Ouachita Dive Center. He was an avid outdoorsma­n with a thrill-seeking spirit who lived his life to its fullest. His children remember him as a mentor and best friend who taught them about hunting and fishing, which he loved so much.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel with a memorial service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — A celebratio­n of life for Joe D. Hobbs, 73, of Hot Springs Village, who died June 19, 2017, will be at 11 a.m. today in Caruth Village Funeral Home chapel.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m.

William B. McWha

William B. “Bill” McWha, age 87, of Hot Springs, peacefully completed his mortal life journey on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18, 2017.

He was born on Feb. 20, 1930, in Amity, the son of Jacob J. McWha and Sarah Jane Whisenhunt McWha. He was preceded in death by his wife and loving partner, June Maureen Sanders McWha; two daughters, Sheila Ann McWha Beavers and Martha McWha Bates; two grandsons, William Raymond McWha and Heath Gabriel Robbins.

Bill was drawn to God and a life of sharing his beliefs and the Bible with all kinds of people. His first experience “preaching” began by age 16 and continued formally for 55 years. His solid belief system and enthusiasm for sharing, serving and his natural communicat­ion skills have touched hundreds of lives and enriched others far beyond his greatest dreams.

With a family to support, he establishe­d “McWha Silk Screen Printing and Decals,” creating quality products for a wide variety of uses, including fine chinaware, decanters and promotiona­l items. His skill brought an opportunit­y to work with Lenox China at the Smithsonia­n Institute to replicate an important historic Chinese vase. Working with a guard at his side throughout the process, the project was very highly commended.

Bill is survived by three daughters, Cheryl M. Thornton, Billie June Sable and Cynthia Gayle McWha; one son-in-law, Jerry Bates; five grandchild­ren, Joe (Catherine) Paladino, Robert Johnston, Christophe­r Johnston, Clint Beavers and Cassie Beavers Richards (Brad); and five great-grandchild­ren, Gavin Richards, Paris Paladino, Ava Paladino, Anthony Paladino and Zoe Paladino.

Visitation will be held from

6-8 p.m. today, June 22, 2017, at Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel at 2205 Airport Road (Highway 70 west). The family welcomes both friends and the public to share this blessed evening.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David “Doc” Kinser officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Robert Johnston, Christophe­r Johnston, Brad Richards, Jerry Bates, Joe Paladino and Warren Pittman.
