BOAT FIRE

Piney Fire Department responded to the fire just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, and Lake Hamilton Fire Department’s fire boat was on standby. “The owners said they thought they heard fireworks, but every fire starting sounds like that so there’s no way to tell what actually started the fire,” said Miser. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within a few minutes, minimizing the damage to surrounding structures.
