Not a tax bill?

-

Dear editor:

“The elimination of limitation on recapture of excess advance payments on premium tax credits.”

How is this not a tax bill? It certainly has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with repealing taxes levied on the wealthy to pay for the ACA to make it more affordable for people. In fact, they do have a section within their “health care” bill that calls for such a repeal, as does the Senate version.

Republicans want to do away with mandatory requirements for people and companies which will cause their plan, which is a joke on the American people, to either fail or cost so much that no one will be able to afford it and then … the elites will have won and destroyed all health care in the U.S.

The less complex plan that would cover everybody without limitation as to illness, disease or pre-existing conditions would be to create a pool of money by having every American pay a set amount per month based on a sliding scale depending on income, much like a progressive tax. Then everyone would have open access to all health care, regardless of disease, illness or pre-existing conditions.

If some oppose this being handled by government, we could have one nonprofit organization be the administrator of such a system and allow them a fee to cover costs. Further to limit costs, the administrator would be granted authority to negotiate drug prices, hospital costs, etc. The people of this country would be healthier and certainly less stressed, therefore, happier than we are now.
