State park to host day camp for kids

SCOTT —Toltec Mounds Adventure Daycamp will be held July 12-14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day for children ages 8-12.

Children who enjoy energetic outdoor adventures can connect with nature, history, and other people in a safe and fun atmosphere to create lasting and wonderful memories.

Day campers will participat­e in activities like kayaking, fishing and hiking. Trips to Pinnacle Mountain State Park, Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center, and Heifer Village are also planned for the camp. Drinks and snacks will be provided but campers will be responsibl­e for bringing their own lunch. Reservatio­ns are required. Payment in advance confirms a reservatio­n. Tuition is $53.75 per child.

Toltec Mounds Archeologi­cal State Park is in Lonoke County just southeast of Little Rock at 490 Toltec Mounds Road. It is a day-use park dedicated to Native American education, research and preservati­on. The park is one of the 52 state parks administer­ed by the State Parks Division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
