SAU announces scholarship recipients
MAGNOLIA — Southern Arkansas University recently announced the recipients of new scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year.
Bismarck High School graduate Samantha Fendley received the Presidential Scholarship, which includes $5,500 per semester for a four-year value of $44,000. She is the daughter of Jennifer Fendley and Dennis Fendley.
Christopher Brewster, Nathan Thomas and Dakota Jensen each received the University Scholarship. The award includes $4,500 per semester for a four-year value of $36,000.
Brewster is a graduate of Lakeside High School. He is the son of Charles Brewster and Meaghan Brewster.
Thomas, of Malvern, is the son of James Thomas and Toni Thomas.
Jensen is also a graduate of Lakeside. He is the son of George Jensen.
Recipients of the Blue and Gold Scholarship include Raven Brown, Madison Dodd, KaLeigh Lewis, Jared Miller, Sierra Schwartz and Zachary Vance. The scholarship awards $3,300 per semester and a four-year value of $26,400.
Brown is a graduate of Bismarck. She is the daughter of Jennifer Johnson.
Dodd, of Malvern, is the daughter of Becky Dodd.
Lewis, of Malvern, is the daughter of
Kendra French.
Miller graduated from Bismarck. He is the son of Kym Prevatte.
Schwartz also graduated from Bismarck. She is the daughter of Aimee King.
Vance, of Hot Springs, is the son of Thomas Vance and Kathy Baugh.
Recipients of the Achievement Scholarship are Matthew Anderson, Brandann Johnson, Grant Kelley and Tyler Thacker. The scholarship provides $1,000 per semester for a four-year value of $8,000.
Anderson, of Hot Springs Village, is the son of Rebecca Anderson.
Johnson is a graduate of Jessieville High School, He is the son of Shawn McKenzie.
Kelley graduated from Magnet Cove High School. He is the son of Steve and Julie Kelley.
Thacker, of Hot Springs, is the son of
Kelly Kummer.
