Dinner held for Our Promise fundraiser winners

-

Dr. Bob and Sara Barnett recently hosted a boutique, poolside benefit dinner for Our Promise Cancer Resources.

For the second year in a row, Chef Diana Bratton donated the food and her talents as an auction item available at the signature Our Promise fundraiser, The Denim and Diamonds Tailgate. She stated in the press release, “My mom succumbed to colon cancer within five days of knowing she had the disease. She had so many questions and we, her children, were all so devastated we didn’t know where to turn to. It is comforting to know that Our Promise offers help and support to both the patient and their families. Donating this dinner was personal to me. Please consider supporting to Our Promise.”

The menu for the evening consisted of ceviche rojo cocktails, grilled bone-in rib-eyes with Guajillo cream sauce, grilled plantains, Poblano cauliflower with aged jack cheese, coconut flan with passion fruit and fresh raspberries and ending with coffee, cordials and cigars.

This year, the dinner was purchased by Dr. Tim Webb, Our Promise founder and past president, and his wife, LaVinia, Our Promise board secretary, and Joe Wilson, Our Promise board vice president, and his wife, Susan. Their guests included Dr. Keith and Debbie Bennett and Ted and Julie Mullenix.

The Barnetts have hosted several Our Promise events, including this poolside dinner, as well as a Mexican fiesta where Bratton was also the chef, and a Young Men of Distinction Mother’s Brunch. Sara Barnett served as treasurer on the board for three years and states that she supports Our Promise due to the fact that, “I believe in the mission of Our Promise, and appreciate that the money they raise stays in our local area to assist those living and being treated in the Garland County region.”

The 2017 Denim and Diamonds Tailgate will be Oct. 14 at Hot Springs Convention Center. For ticket and sponsorship information, please email Executive Director Stacey Pierce at ourpromise.hotsprings@gmail.com or call 760-8060.
