Joy S. Hill

Joy Stroope Hill, age 82, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

She was born on May 26, 1935, in Bonnerdale, the daughter of Alva Fred Stroope and Dessie Edna Milsapp Stroope. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clarence Hill; her parents; one brother, A.D. Stroope; and two sisters, Maxine Keith and Alene Baldwin.

Joy was a member of Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Spalding (Tommy), of Hot Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Spalding, of Hot Springs; two stepdaughters, Kay Riley and Paula and Bob McCauley, all of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Travis and Katie Spalding and Courtney Spalding, all of Hot Springs; five stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Cowart, Stephanie Upchurch and Greg Cowart, all of Hot Springs, Nick Riley, of Texas, and Kim and Derek Stubbs, of Louisiana; two great-grandchildren, Brady Spalding and Jacob Spalding, both of Hot Springs; numerous stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Dennis and Anna Stroope and Brana Stroope, all of Hot Springs; one brother-in-law, Bill Baldwin, of Benton; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Buddy Leamons and Brother Clarence Shell officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Travis Spalding, Greg Cowart, Derek Stubbs, Nick Riley, Darren Stroope and Alton Stroope.
