Whittington Place to host Jazz Experience
This month’s Arkansas Jazz Experience will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Whittington Place, 301 Whittington Ave., and feature Steve Hudelson on guitar.
Hudelson has been a mainstay of the mid-South music scene since his first professional gig in 1991. After graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s music program in 1996, he began performing with local bands and solo artists in the styles of rock, pop, jazz, R&B, gospel, and reggae. His talent for playing in multiple styles has afforded him countless playing opportunities across the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean, a news release said.
Hudelson will be joined by the Arkansas Jazz Combo of Clyde Pound on piano, David Higginbotham on bass and Paul Stivitts on drums with Shirley Chauvin as vocalist and emcee.
The evening will include a potluck table of snacks and sweets, a cash bar and ample parking with easy access. Anyone who signs up to be a new Jazz Society member on the night of the event can apply their entrance fee to their membership. Entrance fee is $10 for Society members or $15 for nonmembers and a special $5 for students. Seating is first-come, first-served.
