Commoditie­s distributi­on Wednesday, Thursday

The Community Services Office Inc. will provide commodity distributi­on at the Boys & Girls Club of Hot Springs from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Wednesday and 8-10 a.m. Thursday.

Participan­ts must meet income guidelines and have Garland County ID, and should bring a large box for food.

Blood drives planned today, next weekend

Arkansas Blood Institute will conduct blood drives at the following locations and times during the week:

• Today — Noon to 4 p.m., Center Fork Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1101 S. Moore Road.

• Friday — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Arkansas EMT Associatio­n, Hot Springs Convention Center.

• Saturday — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Arkansas EMT Associatio­n, Hot Springs Convention Center.

• Sunday, Aug. 6 — 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Lake Valley Community Church classroom, 910 Shady Grove Road.

All donors will receive a ticket to the Little Rock Zoo, a Zoo shirt, Donor Reward Points, free health screening, refreshmen­ts, learn their blood type, and be entered into a drawing for an iPad at each blood drive. All blood donations support the two local acute-care hospitals. Donating takes about 45 minutes.

Donors must be at least 16 years old and have a photo ID. For an appointmen­t or more informatio­n, call Bob Woodall at 501-282-6072. Walk-ins are welcome.
