Pelton joins NPC as ITC director

National Park College recently welcomed Robin Pelton as the new Innovative Technologi­es Center director.

Pelton brings more than 17 years of experience working with the Arkansas Economic Developmen­t Commission, where she worked closely with aerospace and manufactur­ing companies in the Garland County region.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administra­tion in Marketing from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and spent 15 years in the staffing industry, in which she cultivated long-standing relationsh­ips with business and industry.

“We are thrilled that Robin Pelton has joined our team here at NPC,” said Kelli Albrecht, vice president for workforce and strategic initiative­s. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to the ITC and her contacts at the state level will be an asset as we move forward to the next phase of activities.”

Pelton most recently worked as business manager for the Arkansas Economic Developmen­t Commission’s Existing Business Resource Division. She served as Aerospace Sector Manager for eight years, where she focused on systemic issues with business and industry and collaborat­ed with others to develop and maintain an effective workforce.

“Robin understand­s the needs of companies in our region and has built strong relationsh­ips through her work at the Arkansas Economic Developmen­t Commission,” Albrecht said. “I look forward to seeing what new initiative­s she develops at the ITC as we move forward with industry, K-12 and the community on this endeavor.”

Pelton helped companies sustain profitabil­ity and growth in Arkansas and resulted in the creation of the Arkansas Aerospace Alliance and coordinati­on of six annual Arkansas Aerospace Summits and Business-to-Business Expos. She also participat­ed in the Arkansas Aerospace Training Consortium, the NASA Space Grant Consortium and was a senior examiner for the Arkansas Governor’s Quality Award Program.
