HS Tech Learning Center announces schedule

The August schedule for classes presented by Hot Springs Tech Learning Center has been confirmed. It is a follows:

Windows 10 Basics will be a four-week class held from 1-3 p.m. Aug. 2, 16, 23 and 30. A home computer is not required to enroll in this course, however, having a computer is recommende­d as it will enhance the student’s ability to practice the skills learned in the classroom. Topics to be covered include: parts of the computer, review of mouse usage, turn computer on and off, taskbar, start menu, desktop icons. WordPad will be used to give the student basics of word processing: tabs/ groups, cut/paste/copy, formatting, backspace/delete, selecting text, printing, save/save as. Introducti­on to internet and email will be included.

A File Management Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 15. This workshop introduces basic ways to set up, organize and manage files on a computer. It is appropriat­e for users of all Windows systems. This is a hands-on workshop and students will use the Windows 10 operating system.

One-on-One Help Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Aug 21. These sessions will help on a topic that no workshop/ class offers, and help the student register on a topic of their choice. Participan­ts will be matched with a staff member who can provide them with one-on-one help. Bring questions to these sessions.
