Mar­ket­ing team brings home 5 Romero awards

Oak­lawn’s mar­ket­ing depart­ment re­ceived five Romero awards dur­ing the clos­ing cer­e­monies of the Gam­ing Mar­ket­ing & Tech­nol­ogy Con­fer­ence July

20 in Las Ve­gas, bring­ing its to­tal to 57 awards, which in­cludes hon­or­able men­tions, over the last eight years. Oak­lawn was com­pet­ing in the large gam­ing prop­erty cat­e­gory for just the third time as a re­sult of its 2015 ex­pan­sion, which in­creased the com­pe­ti­tion ex­po­nen­tially.

Oak­lawn re­ceived a Gold Award, two Sil­ver awards and two hon­or­able men­tions. The Gold Award was for the VIP Pro­mo­tion, VIP Oak­lawn Cam­pout, while the Floor Pro­mo­tion Bath Planet Give­away and Elec­tronic Mar­ket­ing pro­mo­tion Me­teor May­hem both earned Sil­ver awards. The hon­or­able men­tion awards were for the Di­rect Mail pro­mo­tion Bub­blegum Blowout and Elec­tronic Mar­ket­ing ef­fort

12 Out­lets of Christ­mas. “Our en­tire team should be ex­tremely proud of th­ese awards, es­pe­cially since we are now com­pet­ing against some of the big­gest names in the gam­ing in­dus­try, not only in the United States, but from around the world,” As­sis­tant Di­rec­tor of Mar­ket­ing Bran­don Scott said in the press re­lease. “Each year, we chal­lenge our­selves to do bet­ter than the pre­vi­ous year and so far we’ve been able to ac­com­plish that goal.”

Romero awards honor ex­cel­lence in gam­ing mar­ket­ing and are named for gam­ing mar­ket­ing pi­o­neer John Romero, who died in 2015. Th­ese awards, in the cat­e­gories of Di­rect Mail Mar­ket­ing, E-Mail Mar­ket­ing, PR Cam­paign, Web­site Mar­ket­ing, VIP Pro­mo­tion and Gam­ing Floor Pro­mo­tion, rec­og­nize gam­ing oper­a­tors that best ful­fill the spirit of Romero’s more than 50year cru­sade for ef­fec­tive, mea­sur­able and ac­count­able gam­ing mar­ket­ing ex­pen­di­tures. The win­ners are se­lected by a panel of ex­pert judges.
