Poul­try Test­ing re­quired for Gar­land County Fair

Poul­try birds be­ing en­tered in the Gar­land County Fair must be tested prior to the fair. This test­ing will be held at the Fair­ground on Malvern Road at 8 a.m. un­til fin­ished on Aug. 12. All en­tries, in­clud­ing 4-H Poul­try Chain, shall be tested and en­tered that day with the ex­cep­tion of wa­ter­fowl. Wa­ter­fowl do not re­quire test­ing, but must be en­tered on or prior to Aug. 12. For more in­for­ma­tion or ques­tions, call Phillip How­ell at 627-2646 or Michael How­ell at 627-2590.

AARP driver safety class at Elks Lodge

An AARP Smart Driver course will be spon­sored by the Elks Lodge, 132 Ab­bott Place, at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 7 for mem­bers and their guests. Qual­i­fied grad­u­ates are el­i­gi­ble for an auto in­sur­ance dis­count.

There is a $15 fee for AARP mem­bers and $20 fee for non­mem­bers to cover course ma­te­ri­als. Bring your driver’s li­cense and, if ap­pli­ca­ble, AARP mem­ber­ship card. Call 525-1020 to en­roll.
