Joan Marie Wright, 71, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully Friday, July 28, 2017.

The Rosary and visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today Aug. 1, 2017, in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home, in Hot Springs, Ark. A Catholic Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father George Sanders officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.

Joan was born Nov. 1, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Joseph Brindac and Mae Brindac. She was the youngest of three children.

Joan later moved with her family to Hot Springs. She married her husband of 46 years, Wes Wright, on Feb. 27, 1965.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dawn Simpson, of Van Buren, and Shawn McKim, of Springdale; her two sons-in-law, William Cassidy Simpson and Michael McKim; five grandchild­ren, William Lance Simpson, Kaitlyn Long, Madison McKim, Matthew Simpson and Sean Michael McKim; sister, Dolores Palizzi; and three great-grandchild­ren, Cooper Long, Olivia Simpson and Austin Simpson.

Joan was preceded by her husband, Wes Wright, and her brother, Ray Switzer.

The family would like to thank Highlands Oncology of Fayettevil­le, Ark. A special thank you to Dr. Gregory Oakhill and Tracy for their love and care while treating our mother’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John’s Catholic School to assist students.
