Some random comments

Dear editor: Random comments:

Amend I — Congress shall make no law; so Supreme Court does. Intent of wording “free speech” has been perverted to allow puerile violence by video, incitement to riot, panhandling and obvious bias allowed only by supposed minorities.

Amend II — The introductory phrase, the subject of the sentence, is summarily ignored.

Amend IV — Unreasonable: Could neighborhood sweeps to confiscate deadly weapons be construed as being reasonable? Federal charges for burglars who search and seize?

Amend VII — Jury awards: get rich quick without the lottery.

Amend VIII — How did they deal with capital offenses after the document took effect?

Amend X — States’ right to opt-out later was included as an inducement to: sign, darn it!

Hypocritical title

Dear editor:

We have much to argue and disagree about. God always was and always will be, is not one of them. It would be like arguing over whether the Sun will rise in the morning. No need.

The Democrat Party “Champions of the Poor” is the most hypocritical title of all time! We have enough pretty well-off Dems living here in Hot Springs, Ark., who could easily share what you have. Sell your nice home to a rich Rep., trade your wheels for a couple thousand-dollar car on the used car lot, eat bologna instead of steak, you can get nice slightly worn clothing at our many thrift shops, all the new technology stuff keeps one so preoccupied they don’t notice a soldier (underpaid) who would appreciate it if you paid for his meal, forego the expensive vacation and use the money to buy school clothes and supplies for some needy kids. Drain the swamp (I mean your $ growing mold) and divide it among those who don’t have any extra cash.

If you would just “come down some,” you could “lift many up some,” and everything would be equal! This is what Bernie advocates for, but since he’s a millionaire, I don’t believe him! So, if Dems want us to buy their claim of caring about the needy, as soon as I see you moving out of your nice expensive home, driving a bucket of bolts, shopping the thrift stores and sharing all that you spent your life working for, I’ll congratulate you for putting your money where your mouth is!

Let’s use our military budget to provide quality medical care for our vets, instead of providing a $136,000 gender change for “men” and “women,” plus $1,500 monthly hormone therapy and 200-plus days “recuperating” (no deployments). You cannot make a man into a woman or a woman into a man. A man wearing lipstick and blush, a V-neck dress with a baritone voice is offended when people stare at him. I just saw “him” on TV!

Genesis 1:1 — in the beginning, God. July 30, 2017 — it’s still God! Revelations 22:21 — the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. — The first and last verses of the Bible — God’s word. This will stand way past “any” constitution.

By the way, Christians do not hesitate to give when there is a “need.” Generously and gladly!

I just reread Sunday’s (July 30) writings. Most of Pages 4 and 5B are filled with hate for our president. Barack Hussein Obama was no friend of America, he got a pass. Sad, misguided and deceived!

As for the insults to we Christians? Like water off a duck’s back! You’re spinning your wheels. I am surprised at the number of atheists here in Hot Springs.

God bless America, our president, our military, law enforcement and firefighters! Mary Robinson Hot Springs
