Water main repairs may interrupt service

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Water service to some 125 homes in the Almeria, Avila, Balenciaga, Cordoba, Granada and Salamanca subdivisions of Hot Springs Village may be disrupted beginning at 8 p.m. today and lasting approximately four hours, provided that a repair to a water main proceeds as planned. Complications in the repair may cause further delays of up to 24 hours.

The water main must be shut off to repair a leak, and this shut-off may reduce water pressure or cause service disruption, especially for homes with higher elevations.

The leak repair will benefit the area by both improving water service and protecting existing roads, which may be damaged by the leak if repairs are not made.

During the water main repair, segments of Barcelona Road, Villena Drive and Salamanca Way will be closed to through traffic.
