Humane Society of Garland County pet adoption is held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays at Petco, in Cornerstone Shopping Center. All dogs and cats are neutered, up-to-date on shots and deemed healthy. HSGC is a limited intake “no kill” facility which is donation-funded only and receives no tax funding. It offers programs such as Humane Education and Dog Bite Prevention to any local youth group, school, church or civic organization.
Mountain Valley Sportsman’s Association holds U.S. Practical Pistol Association matches at 10 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month. Rimfire matches are held on various Sunday afternoons. Trap and Skeet fields are open at
