Trump shows true colors

-

Dear editor:

What is the most prolific killing species the world has ever created? I believe it is the human species … no contest … no other species close. Humans not only threaten other humans, they are extinguishing other species and threatening to bring all life as we know it on the planet to an end. Wars, weapons, pollution and global warming are a product of mankind.

I would guess that many of the social problems throughout the world today are caused by over population and the world not being able to provide a living wage from which people can support their families. There is at least a thread connecting all of the world’s disenfranchised.

The racist, supremacists of the world are, to a large extent, just people being afraid of losing their dominance and the ability of their families to thrive. (Peace demands we recognize, and love, all humanities sameness.)

And similarly, in the Middle East, the radical Muslims are largely warring because the

world has not found a way to include providing them an economic future. (Religion is only the excuse they provide to go to war.)

President Trump has recently shown his true colors. He seems to think that the groups that attacked one another in Charlottesville were equal in fault. He lacks the moral leadership that we demand of the POTUS. People of America will stand with people who stand up against racism. There is no way to equalize these groups.

Trump won the presidency because he was the change candidate. (Not forgetting, he lost the popular vote.) And if he continues to give the “alt-right” a foundation to move forward, he will bring about the demise of his administration. For people are not going to go to war again to fight for the rights of all! One Civil War is enough!

While the corporate world has never had it better and are largely the ones making the decisions moving the world forward, it will be their responsibility to share the wealth of the world or face continuous war of those just trying to survive.

Why isn’t the overpopulation of the world a common news story? I believe it is because we have a corporate media, and the corporate view is that continuous growth is the only way forward … more people, more growth, more profits, ad infinitum. But if the world is to survive, the world must find a way to fairly bring about a dissemination of wealth, population control, along with environmental protections.

I repeat Jean Jacques Rousseau: “You are lost if you forget the fruits of the world belong to everyone, while the earth itself belongs to no one.” Bill Wiedmann Hot Springs
